Choose how you move is part of Herefordshire Council’s Destination Hereford project, which is funded by the Department of Transport. It aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve quality of life by promoting increased walking, cycling, bus travel and car sharing across the county.
Herefordshire Council’s waste contractor FCC Environment, formerly Focsa Services (UK) Ltd, will be displaying a number of different Choose how you move posters on their 32 waste vehicles between May and July, to highlight different ways of travel which can help residents to save money, be more active and have more quality time.
Councillor Peter Sinclair-Knipe, said: “It’s important for us all to do our bit to reduce the number of vehicles on the county’s roads and the promotion of other travel options, including cycling, allows people to make their own informed decisions.”
He added: “The council has made best use of their assets by using the FCC vehicles to promote the Choose how you move initiative, as they visit every household across Herefordshire. We’re hoping thousands of people will see the alternative travel options, which in turn will help them to consider how they and their family travel around the county.”
