Bookstart fairy tale fun at Queenswood Country Park

This September enjoy a trip to Queenswood Country Park and introduce your children to the magic of fairy tales.

Herefordshire Council’s libraries and countryside service have joined forces with the Queenswood National Trust shop to provide fairy tale fun for pre-school children aged 18 months to four years old.

From Monday 2 to Monday 30 September, the Bookstart fairy tale trail will be available at Queenswood, along with a selection of fairy tale books which can be borrowed free of charge to read whilst enjoying a picnic at the site.

The trail is free to enjoy and forms are available from the National Trust shop or can be downloaded from www.herefordshire.gov.uk/libraries.

There will also be a fantastic fairy tale story time on Tuesday 24 September from 10am to 11am.  The event is free of charge but booking is essential to help manage the numbers.  For details and to book a place, call the Queenswood National Trust shop on 01568 797853.  Please note the event will be cancelled in wet or windy weather.

Julie Goodwin, Herefordshire Libraries early years officer, said: “The fairy tale themed events promise to be exciting, so why not come along and hunt for your favourite fairy tale characters along Queenwood’s badger trail, but watch out for Mr Wolf!”

She added: “To further enjoy story time, why not bring along a picnic, dress as your favourite character or bring your favourite toy and experience our special story time in the woods.”

To find out about other events taking place across Herefordshire, please visit the council's parks and countryside pages or Queenswood Country Park.
