The C1262 - Hoarwithy Bridge to Kings Caple road was closed last week to undertake an initial assessment of the subsidence damage caused by a badger sett.
Following an initial dig it has been discovered that the road damage is more extensive than originally thought and the repairs to the road will take longer than estimated.
The road will remain closed until the repairs are completed.
Although a full dig out of the road could be undertaken, this would take considerably longer than we would like.
Amey, Herefordshire Council and the local commoners (residents with common rights over the area) are working together to investigate options for repairing the road that will take less time and inconvenience.
Amey Herefordshire and Herefordshire Council urge that people do not remove the barriers to go through the closed area as safety cannot be guaranteed due to the extent of the damage.
We appreciate that this is an inconvenience and thank everyone for their cooperation and patience during these works.
