Herefordshire Council is launching its inaugural Friday Food Fair on 30 May in Commercial Street, Hereford with a sumptuous range of tempting treats.
The fair, which is primarily aimed at showcasing local foods and beverages, will complement the existing range of markets held on different days throughout the week in Hereford city centre.
Street food and food festivals have grown in popularity across the country over recent years, increasing the vibrancy and diversity found within local streetscapes. The Friday Food Fair will include a range of hot and cold foodstuffs and will embrace the best Herefordshire has to offer as well as specialist items from further afield.
Every Friday the fair will feature a number of regular traders who will be joined by other traders on selected dates to ensure a varied mix of culinary delights will always be available. There will be the opportunity to ‘try before you buy’ with samples on offer from each stallholder, who will be on hand to demonstrate their passion for their produce.
Councillor Patricia Morgan, cabinet member for corporate services, said: “We are very pleased to launch this exciting new venture, which will further strengthen our market service in Hereford city centre. We have an incredible array of local food and drink in the county and beyond and the Friday Food Fair will ensure visitors and traders have the opportunity to buy and sell great produce all year round.”
