Fly a Flag for the Commonwealth

Herefordshire Council will be taking part for the second year, along with other local authorities, civic dignitaries, community groups and charities throughout the British Isles in the Commonwealth Flag Raising Ceremony dedicated to mark Commonwealth Day.

The event will take place at the council offices, Shire Hall, St Peter’s Square, Hereford, HR1 2HX on Monday 9 March at 10am where a specially written Affirmation will be read out at the ceremony before the raising of the Commonwealth flag led by the HM Lord Lieutenant, Countess of Darnley JP. 

And for the first time in maritime history, the 11 Ships of P&O and Cunard Line will be raising the Commonwealth flag at various locations as they cruise around the world.
