A chance to explore Herefordshire’s new history centre

History enthusiasts will be able to explore the new Herefordshire Archives and Records Centre on two forthcoming preview days.

The events will take place on Friday 30 January and Thursday 12 February and will run from 10am – 3pm. They will include regular tours of the public research areas, the state of the art archive conservation studio and energy efficient document storage rooms. There will also be a display of images charting the progress of this exciting project.

Archives and Collections Manager Elizabeth Semper O’Keefe said: ‘We are very much looking forward to presenting Herefordshire’s wonderful new research centre to the public. They will find a great environment for research with much improved facilities and storage conditions that will keep our precious collections safe for future generations to enjoy.’

Booking for the tours is not necessary and there is parking on site. Cyclists will be able to use the Greenway cycle and pedestrian route to reach the site.

Herefordshire Archives and Records Centre will open for archive researchers later this year.
