Winners announced for Herefordshire Diamond County Awards

Herefordshire Diamond County Awards 2015 winners and finalistsThe winners of this year’s Herefordshire Diamond County Awards were announced at a special ceremony at Hereford Town Hall on Tuesday 9 June.

The 2015 awards, which were sponsored by Arctic Circle Ltd, Cargill Meats Europe, Herefordshire Industrial Association, Kingspan, Pol Roger Ltd and the Tabor Charitable Trust, included categories for small and large businesses and outstanding apprentices.

The finalists and winners were shortlisted from countywide nominations by a judging panel of Neil Kerr, chairman of the Herefordshire Business Board and Liz Connors, Chairman of Cares Council for Cargill, who judged the business awards and Paul Deneen OBE JP DL; Bob Tabor, former High Sheriff of Herefordshire; Lee Snead, head of client services at allpay Limited and Niki Baker, HR manager at South Hereford Garages Ltd, who judged the apprentice award.

The winner of the small business award was SHYPP (Herefordshire Supported Housing for Young People Project) in Hereford while Border Oak Design & Construction Limited in Kingsland, Leominster won the large business award. This year’s outstanding apprentice award went to Thomas Jones of Cargill Meats Europe in Hereford.

Councillor John Stone, former chairman of Herefordshire Council said: “I am pleased that this year’s Herefordshire Diamond County Awards have once again been a great success and helped to recognise the outstanding contribution our businesses and apprentices make in our local communities.

“I would like to thank and congratulate all of this year’s nominees, finalists and winners for everything they do for residents and communities across Herefordshire. I would also like to thank our judging panel, which has the difficult job of selecting our worthy finalists and winners and Hereford College of Arts for once again designing our splendid awards. Finally, I would like to thank Lady Darnley, lord lieutenant of Herefordshire and Edward Harley, High Sheriff of Herefordshire for presenting the awards at the Town Hall.”
