Herefordshire Council has today (Friday 22 May) confirmed its new Cabinet appointments following the county elections earlier this month.
The appointments see Councillor Tony Johnson remaining as leader of the council with Councillor Patricia Morgan as deputy leader. The main changes see Councillor Morgan moving to health and wellbeing whilst Councillor Graham Powell moves to economy and corporate services and Councillor Jonathan Lester replaces Councillor Jeremy Millar, who has retired, for young people and children’s wellbeing.
Councillor Tony Johnson, leader of Herefordshire Council, said: “I am pleased that we have been able to retain our proven strong Cabinet team and we will continue to focus our priorities on protecting the county’s vulnerable residents and strengthening the economy, whilst ensuring that we spend within our means and deliver a balanced budget.
“I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our new councillors and thank those who have retired for all their contributions. In particular, I would like to thank Councillor Jeremy Millar for all his hard work within the young people and children’s wellbeing area and welcome his replacement Councillor Jonathan Lester to the Cabinet.”
