Herefordshire residents looking for affordable housing are being encouraged to come to the county’s first housing fair next month.
The fair takes place in Hereford city centre on Wednesday 14 October from 10am to 3pm. It's being held to help people register on the Home Point housing register for affordable housing and learn about new developments and properties that are regularly available.
The event is a joint venture organised by Herefordshire Council and local housing associations.
Councillor Patricia Morgan, Cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to come and talk to the experts about their housing needs and gain some assistance to get onto the affordable housing register.
“The council’s team are working very closely with housing associations to make sure we have good quality affordable homes in the places they are needed across the county. This year we have a number of schemes about to come onto the rental market, and we need to make sure that people who are interested have registered their interest on the Home Point housing register.
“I would urge anyone in need of housing, either now or over the next 12 months, to come to the fair, talk to the housing associations and, if they’re eligible, sign up to Home Point.”
