Herefordshire Council is currently subject to legal proceedings at The High Court in London, brought against it by the owners of the Autumn Days care home in Ross-on-Wye.
Concerns about potential risks to residents at the home were highlighted in 2009 by both the council and the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following which necessary steps were taken to facilitate the relocation of vulnerable residents. Subsequently, the standard of care provided by the home improved and the council has since placed residents in the home and still uses it today.
The council takes the safeguarding of all vulnerable children and adults in its care extremely seriously and as such has no reservations about taking appropriate action within its legal capabilities to ensure their continued protection.
